Manas Bhatia



Manas is an architect from Dehradun,India, currently pursuing MS Computational Design Practices at Columbia University’s GSAPP. Internationally celebrated for his nature-inspired architectural designs developed through visual generative AI, his work seamlessly integrates nature with the built environment. His projects have been showcased at prestigious venues such as the Chateau de Lourmarin in France, Paula Roberta in Barcelona, and The Borders Art Fair in Venice. Additionally, his designs have been featured by prominent platforms, including CNN, BBC, Designboom, and several leading national and international design magazines.

Manas was featured in the PBS docuseries A Brief History of the Future and was honored as a Forbes 30 Under 30 nominee in the Arts category for the Class of 2024. With over four years of professional experience at Ant Studio, he worked as an Associate on diverse projects spanning residential, commercial, institutional, and urban design. Among his notable contributions are the design of a leprosy clinic for an NGO and the development of "CoolAnt," a climate-responsive cooling system.

A skilled educator, Manas has delivered lectures at institutions like the University of Toronto and organized online workshops to build expertise in generative AI tools. His current research at Columbia University explores the use of generative AI for fostering community engagement in urban design, aiming to bridge the gap between stakeholders and empower communities to actively shape their environments.
